Know the Signs
Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign
Project Overview
As part of my work with the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA), I contributed to the Know the Signs campaign, an initiative designed to combat human trafficking by utilizing CCRTA’s unique access to the community. The campaign began with internal training for employees and expanded into a public awareness effort using print and digital outreach. By educating transit riders and frontline workers on how to recognize and report trafficking, the initiative helped reduce reported security incidents by nearly 45% in one year and strengthened CCRTA’s role in community safety.
Solution
I developed a cohesive visual system for the campaign using shades of blue, the nationally recognized color for human trafficking awareness. This palette helped establish trust while aligning with broader awareness efforts. I paired the colors with strong typography and custom iconography to ensure the message was clear and impactful. I created posters, bus decals, flyers, and digital graphics, each designed to catch attention quickly and direct people to actionable resources. My focus was on creating accessible, high-impact visuals that empowered the public and reinforced CCRTA’s commitment to safety and social responsibility.
